The best job in Israel is the one that pays a salary of more than 10,000 shekels a month, according to a recent survey.
The Jerusalem Post survey asked Israelis to name the most attractive job, and the top spot was taken by a top management job with a salary equal to or above that of the lowest-paid position.
The survey, conducted by the Jerusalem Center for Policy Research and commissioned by the ministry of education, revealed that while the average salary in Israel, which is about 8,000 per month, is below the OECD average of 10,900, it was much higher than the OECD median of 3,500 shekeles.
The top-paying job in the country was a job with pay of more the 7,500 euro ($8,700), according to the survey.
The median salary for this position is about 6,400 shekel a month.
The study showed that, while many Israelis are able to save up for their future by investing in their childrens’ education, the median salary of a manager training job in Tel Aviv is between 2,500 and 2,700 shekelva a month less than the median wage for a management job in Jerusalem.
The average salary of the managerial training jobs in Tel-Aviv is around 2,400 to 2,800 shekelda a day, the survey found.
For those who are interested in taking the Israeli job market by the horns, the Jerusalem Post reported that most employers offer an entry-level salary of 1,500 to 2.5 million shekeleva ($1,800 to $2,000) and the median starting salary of such positions is between 6,500 (a full senior management position) and 7,000 (a lower-level position).
