The Melbourne restaurant industry is on the rise again.
It’s now the number one restaurant industry sector in Australia.
This year’s National Restaurant Industry Conference is set to be the first in the country to focus on this sector.
This conference will include a series of workshops aimed at getting restaurant managers and their managers on board with the new management skills training program.
The new program will offer more than 40 trainees the chance to apply their knowledge and skills to help restaurant managers.
This new initiative comes after a string of major industry events this year including the Australian Food Industry Conference, the Australian Restaurant Association’s (ARA) annual conference and the Melbourne International Business Festival.
We’re going to be looking at what the new program offers and what to expect.
This is part one of a two-part series on the program.
In part two, we’ll be looking into the new training program itself.
Here are the key takeaways from the program: There’s no such thing as a bad manager training program Melbourne Restaurant Association (MRA) president Mike Cairns says the program will make restaurant managers better managers.
“I think the best way to approach management training is to look at how management systems work,” he said.
“The way we do this in the industry is we have managers on a team who are trained to manage teams.
We have managers who are taught to set up and run restaurants.
We train them to manage a team.”
This is a big shift from the industry norm where managers are expected to work in teams.
In Australia, the industry standard is for managers to have at least one full-time employee and the majority of the work is done by people with varying levels of experience.
“This is a massive shift from where we are in the rest of the world,” said Mr Cairnes.
“People think management is a job you do to stay afloat, but managers have a life of their own.”
MRA training manager salaries are now set at $75,000 A $25,000 increase in salary for the top management positions is expected to bring in $75 million over the next five years.
MRA chief executive officer Chris Bremmer said the increase would be offset by the impact on the bottom line.
“If we are going to keep the industry going we are always going to need a bit of money to be able to keep going,” he told AM.
“And the money that we have in the bank we can use to pay staff and provide more training for our people.”
There will be no salary cap The new management training training program is based on the same model that was used for the national restaurant industry conference.
There will not be a cap on the salary of managers in the program, Mr Bremme said.
The salary cap will not apply to managers at all levels of management.
“We’re going after people with the same experience level and same skill set as us, which is good for everybody,” he added.
The training program will be free for everyone in Melbourne, but the cost will be covered by the MRA.
There is no minimum salary requirement The program will not require any qualifications or special training to get a job in the restaurant industry.
The only requirement is that the manager must be a restaurant employee.
There are no job advertisements to sign up for the program either.
There has been a surge in applications The MRA says the majority, if not all, of the applications are coming from people who have completed training in the past and have the skills to be a manager in the future.
“That’s what we are trying to build a lot of experience with,” Mr Broun said.
Mr Brawnes said the training program would provide restaurant managers with the knowledge and tools they need to manage their team and manage people effectively.
“When people come in and they have the training and the knowledge, they’ll be able then to have more confidence in themselves and the team,” he explained.
He said the program would help managers understand how they should run their business. “
It’ll be very helpful in the long term.”
He said the program would help managers understand how they should run their business.
“At the end of the day we want to be in control of our businesses, not managers,” he advised.
“There’s always an opportunity for a manager to have an issue with someone.
We want to make sure they have their own issues with management, they have issues with the team.”
The program is being rolled out across the city, with training taking place in Melbourne’s CBD and other parts of the city.
The program includes a five-day program with a group of 20 to 30 people who are expected start work on the first day of training.
The next two days will include five days of classroom learning, a three-day boot camp, and a two day intensive program.
A final day will be held on the third day
