A new study has revealed the top job for many people in 2018.
In the latest edition of the job interview survey, which was published by recruiting firm CareerBuilder, more than 11.5 million people answered the question “Which is the most important career in 2018?”
Many of the top choices listed are very similar to what you’d find in a job board.
The survey found that the number of people who chose “computer software developer” as their top career in 2019 rose to 13.5 percent from 9.4 percent last year.
It’s a number that jumps to 15.3 percent for “computer system engineer” and 11.4 for “human resources and human resources management”.
The top jobs for this category also include software developers and programmers, but it appears that the most popular choice is “executive director of a company” and “executives.”
Other popular choices include “manager of a private equity fund,” “director of a consulting firm” and a “chief executive officer.”
In a post on LinkedIn, CareerBuilder CEO John C. Myers said the survey showed that employers are more interested in people who can think strategically.
“The hiring managers are asking for a mix of diverse candidates who have experience in their field, a broad skillset, and are able to communicate their value to their team members and their clients,” Myers wrote.
“They are also looking for candidates with strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills, and ability to manage multiple teams and manage a team’s needs and expectations.”
As we continue to build on this knowledge, we are excited to see how this survey evolves over time.
“In addition, we will be looking for more diversity in our workforce and we encourage people who may be considered for a job with us to apply.”
